I was going to comment on the mp3's and their sound but I will save that for the podcast thread.

As I was driving home yesterday from the office I was flipping between AM and FM and I'm sure this has been noticed with a simucast before but oddly enough
I felt more comfortable listening to WORD on AM than FM. FM was definitely clearer, louder and punchier but the voices sounded a bit more tiney or had more
treble or something. Whereas the AM had a lower volume it has had a deeper and fuller (as opposed to louder sound). AM actually sound "warmer" than
FM. I guess that's the same mindset as prefering vinyl records over CD or using vacumn tubes over transistors to get a "warmer" sound. I would
have adjusted the treble/bass setting in my car but that button was broken. The men talking especially sound funny compared to AM because of tendency to have
more treble than bass.

The addition of FM saved my husband's marriage. He was driving me NUTS trying to listen to WORD on the radio in the evening!
Congratulations to WORD on the new frequency! I know you'll do very well with the addition! (((((((((((((((APPLAUSE))))))))))))))) |

"I hope you guys like the change. It's coming Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, I will be out of the office for the next couple of weeks for some surgery Friday morning. So if you don't hear from me, that's why. But everything's ready on *my end*! "Cat" * My emphasis, added. Just read this post last nite! AND, I wonder on which end did she have the surgery? I have a preference; you may also have a preference. Which one of us is correct? CAT, Hope & Pray that you are recovering well from whatever surgery you had. Look forward to "fighting" with you a bit more! hillh |

Actually Hill.... I have to say I enjoy you as well. You do have a tendency to bring a little.... sparkle... to the board. I don't get into too many
political conversations, simply because I don't know enough about them, and I've learned that sometimes it's better to keep one's mouth shut so
as not to put a foot in it. You all have taught me a lot over the past year though. I can at least discuss some things.
As for my surgery, I didn't have it. Like most companies we have an idiotic insurance company that denied my claim the day before it was scheduled. The doctor and I have been fighting back and forth with them for the last week. I was scheduled to have a hysterectomy, but my insurance company didn't feel it was needed. It's been a looong week. The good news is that I DO leave today on vacation. I will be gone for the next week. My family and I are heading for Daytona Beach for some much needed R&R and to see my family. I just wanted to take a minute and thank all of you who have contributed to the message board and are loyal fans to WORD. Cat |

Cat, sorry about your health problems and maddening insurance companies. I think they really want to cut out the Drs and the hospitals and just have us let
them do all the diagnosing and care. No matter what ailed you, you'd be lucky to get an aspirin and a bandaid. Unbelievable.
But, hope you guys have a great vacation. Thank you, also, for all your hard work with this WORD board and the others, in the midst of all the other things you do, as well. Have fun. You deserve it. (Smurf)
Smurfette! (The intelligent contributor to the WORD forum . . .and perhaps the least whiny person on this board)

Catwoman1022 wrote:"sparkle"? Excuse me, but "Both Spam-I-Am & Cat are as useless as teats on a boar" isn't something I'd describe as "sparkly". This man is a low class, selfish prig. If I'm expected to interact with that, someone has the wrong expectation. Maybe Hill can develop and promote the SleazyYuck board for free with no station input. Surely he has a passel of people who respect his recommendations, and his web savvy is well documented. I'm sure he'll have the members list filled in no time, and all of the admin mechanics taken care of. Best of luck to you all. If anyone wants to talk to me, I'll be at American Stew. Note to Hill: Character is a by-product, and any man who devotes himself to its cultivation in his own case will become a selfish prig. - Woodrow Wilson, 28th American president (1856-1924) |
